I love this time of year! The days are warm and full of summer, the nights are colder and remind me that fall is around the corner. Picnics in the day, and fires at night. Window shopping in the afternoon. It’s the perfect time to find the best deals on your end of summer items and your early fall deals for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I am thinking of adding some lighting to the path and I need some Yard Art. Maybe I need to get a scarecrow this year to go with the jack-o-lanterns. I can’t believe it’s almost Labor day already… So much to do, so little time.
The flashlight that the LAPD helped develop with Pelican, the 7060 DUTY AND TACTICAL LED LIGHT, is now available to the public! It comes with both a momentary tail switch for tactical demands, and a neck switch for everyday patrol use. This is one cool flashlight. I wonder if it is set up for use with a standard flashlight clamp for your tactical shotgun or rifle? I am putting this on my Christmas wish list, so if a friend, boss, employee, lover, or family member was looking for the perfect gift for me, put this at the top!
The Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk is coming up soon.
It is now time to set up your team for the walk, so there will be plenty of time to get your team and team plans together. Sign up here.

Becoming a Captain:
If you were thinking of supporting a charitable cause and becoming a team captain, now is the perfect time to get signed up. You can do it all online. You can fill out the form and get registered online. They even have tools to help you get started and be successful, as well as how to keep it fun and encourage your team.
Invite team members. (Remember, if you invite three, they’ll each invite three, and so on, and then you will have a great team!) You’ll need at least 9 to create a successful team.
You are encouraged to set an individual goal. It can be any dollar amount above $200, but teams are rewarded special prizes for going above and beyond this amount.
A team meeting may be helpful to get everyone excited about the project and to set your goals and standards. This meeting may also e used to explain the team website and the setup of their personal website space.
Get them excited! Your own enthusiasm will be contagious.
Make sure to collect all of your off line funds. You will be the last step before the funds are sent to the organization, so be ready to collect from each team member.
How to donate:
You can easily donate online. I did, and it was too easy. I did a search for my local walk and then donated to a walker that I now. I was able to do it all online with a credit card just like online shopping. The minimum donation amount is $5, but you will get a t-shirt for donating over $50!
It has become blatantly obvious lately that I have a bit of an organization problem. I find myself moving one pile to clear out an area to use something, and then moving it back in order to use something else.
My plan is to go to the new IKEA today and see if i can find some cheap solutions to my hoarding problem. Then again, maybe I should just throw some stuff away. No, I might need that stuff later. The first step to fixing your problem is admitting you have one, right?
