Home Information*

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Currently, you must be a totally informed buyer or rely that your Realtor will ask the right questions for you. This can be daunting, especially for the first-time home buyer.

There is a new wave a change in the UK housing market. Home Information Packs are created for each property, and they include the sales agreement, energy performance figures, any warranties, and the proofs of ownership. What a great idea.

Anti-Virus Test

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

I like to test out different Anti-virus programs before my clients do. That way I can make recommend them the right products for their needs and budget.

Lately I have been testing Avira AntiVirĀ® PersonalEdition Classic and I am pleased with the results for a free AV package. The only complaints that I have are that it seems to scan my emails a little slower than some paid products and the nag screen that comes up when it updates every 3 days.

The level of protection is more than adequate and it will install when some other not-free programs will not on a particularly troublesome PC.

New Under-cabinet Light*

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

If you are looking for lights for your home, there are a lot of choices these days.

I am currently looking for some under-cabinet lighting for a desk and message space in my home. I am looking at the Xenon-type bulb style. Here is an example of one that suits my needs, the Kichler Lighting 1 Lt Xenon model. I think that the 18 watt bulb will provide the necessary light without being too intrusive to the rest of the room.

There are several sites that promise to lower your Alexa rank and improve your Alexa traffic rankings. there are several sites that promise to raise your Alexa traffic by trading your Alexa surfing time for others surfing time. In other words, you surf their sites with an Alexa toolbar installed, and they will do the same for you, thus raising your Alexa traffic. Try out alexaautosurf.com or www.esurfhits.com if you are interested.

Also, it always helps your own traffic, if you have the Alexa toolbar installed.
