Digital Scales

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

I recently mentioned that we were redoing our shipping department. Upgrades are the rule as opposed to the exception. We are trying to maximize our productivity in order to pass the savings on to our customers.

One place where we found we could improve was the accuracy of our individual product and shipping weights. There are two different types of scales available for the normal shipping department, a floor scale and a bench scale, and they are just what they sound like. We found that a bench scale was perfect for our needs, flow, and setup. Finding a decent price is always important, as is selection, so we found Shipping Scales at QuickSupply.net. They have a bench scale that will weigh packages up to 150 lbs, yet can be set to weigh letters within .1 of an ounce. Now that is great technology.

United North America?

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

What? NAFTA strikes again with the idea of a United North American consisting of Canada, United States, and Mexico. The first step was the announcement by all three leaders of the countries of: “The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America” (SPP), with the goal of promoting economic equality and strength amongst the union.

There is even talk of a unified currency, much like the Euro, called the Amero. There are even some examples of a possible coinage, not bill, system seen above. Notice the UNA and Amero signage. Canadian financial experts love the idea, of course, because it would strengthen their economic situation. Proponents also say it will save the countries billions of dollars in currency exchange expenses.
