Dumbledore is gay.

Author J.K. Rowling shocked her fans at Carnegie Hall on Friday night when she answered one young reader’s question about Dumbledore by saying that he was gay and had been in love with Grindelwald, whom he had defeated years ago in a bitter fight.

“You cannot imagine how his ideas caught me, Harry, inflamed me,” Dumbledore says in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter Series.

“Falling in love can blind us to an extent,” Rowling said Friday of Dumbledore’s feelings about Grindelwald, adding that Dumbledore was “horribly, terribly let down.”

Dumbledore’s love, she observed, was his “great tragedy.”

This seems to me to be a little convenient. In today’s air of acceptance, is this just another marketing ploy? Although, I must admit, it allows me to make a lot more jokes about his wizard’s staff and any spell containing flames.

It always amazes me to find out that my friends and relatives actually take the time to read my rantings and ravings. Some of the things I write about here don’t ever really get expressed properly to other people, because I get them out here.

I would like to tell everyone out there that I really care whether you read this or not. I find it flattering that anyone is truly interested in what I say. The fact that anyone takes the time to listen is great. The afore mentioned comments may make it appear that I am married, but it is not true.

It would seem that many bloggers write them more for themselves than for anyone else to read. It must be some form of sick therapy for people to put in to words the things they might not otherwise express. Maybe it is some form of cosmic Diary, an existential release of feelings for the cyber-world to eat, swallow, and release.

I would like to thank those of you who have let me know, that, in fact, they have read the Blog and that they enjoy it. For those of you who are critical, thank you too! And to those of you that are interested in the latest news on Britney, Nicole, and Paris, well, I still appreciate you reading, but get a life!
