AMD’s New Microprocessors

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

AMD is now working on a new set of microprocessors that are more efficient. Both Intel and AMD are both understanding the need to create smaller, cooler, and faster CPU’s. The new CPU that AMD is soon to release on the market is believed to be the ultimate solution to laptop user’s needs – longer power and more efficient product lines.

All laptops have problems with battery life. More often than not, its battery run out even before the user had finished doing their tasks on their computer. AMD is looking to solve that problem. It is looking to create a processor that works with lesser heat and least power required. Therefore, the laptop’s battery won’t run out faster than it should.

Smaller and Skinnier PC’s

Last month, AMD attempted at yet another skinny innovation of a desktop PC. This is a far cry from the iMac, which had conveniently found a way to totally do without the bulky computer chassis. However, AMD is doing its best to minimize the space required for computers, all for the benefit of middle-class computer users who can’t much afford the high-off-the-roof price of iMacs.

AMD called their small and thin chassis the DXT form factor. It’s almost a third smaller than the regular ATX chassis and several inches more compact and thinner than the micro ATX. The box also includes locations for the computer’s major components, namely the motherboard, expansion slot, mounting holes, and input/output ports.

New desktop for my home

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

I am thinking of getting a new desktop for my home, and the Velocity Micro ProMagix PCX keeps popping into my mind. The first time I saw it, I was immediately intrigued by its attractive appearance, as well as its shiny black shade. But it’s not just the desktop’s appearance that has caught my attention.

With a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo E6600 CU and the nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS for a graphics adapter, this makes a very impressive desktop to have. What’s more, the CPU can be upgraded to a quad-core, if you would prefer it! It also has the 19-inch ViewSonic VA903b LCD monitor, which makes the whole unit very nice to look at. This is indeed a great PC to have, just in time for Christmas! Now, if only I could get my hands on a couple thousand dollars!
