Oregon Vacations

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

The Oregon Coast is a magic and wonderful place. It has so many diverse environments. In the bays you get rocky shores and glassy waters. On the coast, you get wild waves suitable for surfing and sandy shores the occasional driftwood log. In the inlets, you see grassy plains perfect for agriculture. Higher up the mountain is the home of a budding wine making and grape-growing area.

Each season of the year feels completely different. The summers are long and the sunsets are beautifully warm, perfect for a late evening marshmallow roast on the beach. Spring and Fall bring on the brisk breezes perfect for kite-flying. Winter is the time for cuddling up in front of the fireplace with that special someone to watch the weather and waves.

Each city and town of the Oregon Coast has its own distinct personality. Some towns thrive on their antiques and markets. Others are known for their art and crafts. Some have the feel of a big city, with high-end dining, entertainment, and a casino.

When you visit the Oregon Coast, there are so many places to stay. You can choose to stay at a motel or hotel, buy a time-share, or you can rent a vacation home. Hotels can be impersonal and often don’t give you the true flavor of the town or city you are staying in. Time-shares are expensive and often don’t give you the flexibility you might want to visit other towns or cities, and often lock you in to certain times of the year. Rental homes are the perfect way to enjoy the true Oregon Coast experience.

Each Oregon Rental home is often decorated to show the tastes of the owners, with a special look and feel. You don’t share a wall with some noisy neighbors, and you can set your own schedule. Barbecue on the back deck, within view of the ocean, or go out to eat at a local eatery and watch the sunset. Get up early and go to the craft fair. Take off for the day up or down the coast and know you have a place to come back to. Some even offer a private hot tub to ease the tension away. Oregon coast vacation rentals give you the opportunity to truly enjoy the coast at your pace and at your convenience, and isn’t that what we all want when we are on vacation?

Airsoft Pistols

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Airsoft target shooting has become an extremely popular sport here in the US. Many people have found the benefits of an outdoor activity, and the fun and strategy of an exciting game. If you are going to shoot airsoft guns, remember the famous credo: The first rule of gun fighting is to have a gun.

Here are some things to keep in mind when you are shopping for an Airsoft rifle:

1. You should try out all types of guns before buying one. Try borrowed or rented guns to get the chance to choose which gun that works for you. The Airsoft gun should provide ease of use and comfort for the user. It should also give you confidence in your ability.
2. Before buying a Airsoft gun, it is important that you decide on the size of the gun, the style and the features you desire. Remember, the bigger the gun caliberm the heavier the gun usually becomes. A good gun should be the right size for you and should contain the amount of ammunition needed to fire at the targets.
3. Price is always a factor. It is important that you determine your budget for the gun. There are many Airsoft guns in the market and prices may range from $100 to several thousand. The cost of the gun will depend on the brand and features you choose.
4. Seek advice from friends who have shot Airsoft, instructors, and coaches of shooting ranges who will be able to provide some tips on what Airsoft guns they have used and have found effective.
5. The buyer should shop around first before deciding on a particular Airsoft gun. This will give him the chance to evaluate and compare prices. Some shops offer lower prices than other shops, so do some research and purchase the one that fits your needs and pocketbook.
6. Remember your safety equipment! Don’t be stingy here. You will thank me later. I would rather spend more on safety equipment and stay longer with a little less expensive gun than the other way around.

I myself have been looking in to the Colt Model 1911 A1 Airsoft gun. I shoot in local IPSC/USPSA matches, and I have been looking for a way to practice some techniques at home. I would like to practice all the way from the draw to the target acquiring to the follow-through, and this gun would exactly emulate the .45 pistol I currently shoot at these matches.

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I hear it all of the time. People can’t get a credit card because they have bad or no credit. So what are they to do? You should be careful of applying for the pre-approved credit card offers you see in the mail, because it may hurt your chances if you have too many inquiries on your credit report. Try BadCreditOffers.com’s website. They offer credit card offers specifically designed for those of us with less than perfect credit. Packet8 VoIP

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

There are many facets to the VoIP technology, but this article will be mainly covering what is possible and how it can work for your small business, not how it works or particular end-user features. It will also try to give you an idea of what is possible and the diverse scalability offered.

Many of our small and medium sized businesses are interested in Business VoIP for its cost-effectiveness and the want to move away from large, immobile, and over-priced telephone companies. VoIP is a way of using your existing broadband or high-speed internet connection for your voice and fax communications needs.

With VoIP you can even keep your current phone numbers and have them transferred to your new VoIP phone system or lines. VoIP phone lines work nearly identical to traditional lines. You can have a phone number with the same area code as your existing traditional phone lines, and add additional lines of different area codes, as well as toll-free numbers.

You may also ask if you will still have access to emergency services, such as 911. The answer is yes, you will, although you or your provider will have to register with emergency services to let them know the physical location of the virtual phone lines you are using.

In order to take full advantage of the services offered by the VoIP technology, you should consider either a PC-based software package or hardware VoIP dedicated phones.

For small businesses, the biggest reason to consider VoIP services is to save money. There are many reasons that you can save with VoIP including: purchase only the services you need at the time; not having to purchase costly equipment; Save money by having unlimited local and long-distance calling; an Auto Attendant for a professional image; manage extensions for multiple locations from an on-line control panel; Add expandable VoIP services and equipment as you need them; Keep costs low on equipment and virtually no maintenance.

Many small businesses would be best served by using an auto-attendant to route or callers, saving the expense of a dedicated staff member for answering and directing calls. Also, using your existing Ethernet broadband infrastructure kepps costs low. You can also use your existing business-class phones along with a broadband adapter. Outlook integration is an added benefit.

Explore your Packet8 Virtual Office options to become even more informed. You will see that many small businesses can take advantage of low initial start-up costs and the opportunity to only buy the products and features you need.

Halloween Costume

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

My sister’s Birthday is on Halloween. She always had something going on. A birthday party or something special was the norm. Although I did dress up when I was real young, as I got older it became more and more her day. I guess that is why I hadn’t really dressed up at all as an adult until the last few years.

Now I can’t wait for Halloween to come around so I can shop for and wear my new halloween costumes. Who will I be this time? Perhaps I will be a swash-buckling pirate? Maybe I will dress up as Raggedy Andy? How about Buzz Lightyear? I can’t wait for you all to see what my costume will be this year!

Home Loans

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

More and more you hear about how the house loan market is failing miserably. A lot of lenders were too concerned with getting the Loans than with the people’s ability to pay it back. When you mix in climbing variable interest rates and over-estimated property values, you have a volatile mix.

There are other choices from companies out there helping the consumer out. There are several ways to get your payments to stay static, without the fear of interest rate fluctuations leaving you bankrupt. One option is to use Mortgage Loans with a fixed rate. You may also be well served and protected to Refinance with mortgage payment protection.

Excuse me, but your panties are showing.

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

No, these are not some more Britney Spears getting-out-of-the-limo pictures.

Janet Jackson isn’t havng an equipment malfunction.

Lindsay Lohan isn’t showing of her Oregon State University Mascot.

These are not really see-through. These are skirts that have a print on the back of them to make them look that way.

These skirts are all the rage in Japan. So will they be big here too? If spandex mini-skirts are any indicators, God I hope not.

Look for these at next year’s Fredrick’s of Hollywood’s back-to-school sale.

The BP Solar Decathlon

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

BP is once again a title sponsor of the BP Solar Decathlon in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy. In addition to this, BP is also the only energy company sponsor. The BP Solar Decathlon only happens every two years and is comprised of participants from 20 college groups from around the globe.

The BP Solar Decathlon is held as a week-long competition on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. this year on October 11th through the 19th. Each college group will be judged during this time. Each college group must design, produce, and have habitable, energy-efficient, and entirely solar-powered houses.

BP has even ventured in to the blogging world by hosting the events blog about the event at www.bpsolardecathlon.com. They will have an on-site reporter posting on the blog. Each team also has the chance to participate in the blog as well, through each team’s area for postings.

BP has been a leader in the exploration of alternative energy. They jointly own a wind farm that can produce enough energy for 13,000 homes. They produce about 200 Megawatts of solar energy each year as well.

BP has even put in place a website so you may check out for yourself where you stand in your own energy consumption. To see what your carbon footprint is, try out their website, http://www.thegreencurve.com and see how you impact the environment.
