Women’s Soccer
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007I love Soccer. I love Soccer. I know any red-white-and-blue blooded American is supposed to be a Baseball fan, or at least a American Football fan, but I love soccer. I played it all my life and think it is the sport of all sports!
The Women’s World Cup is on right now, and I don’t mind telling you that I have spent many a late night, or early morning, watching a lot of the games. Although Women’s international Soccer is not nearly as physical as Men’s soccer,I still truly enjoy watching it. I have even watched games over again when they are replayed.
There are always some things anyone would like to change about their sport. This world Cup has some tie-breaking rules that i truly don’t understand this year, but it has yet to really hurt anyone, so i will not bore you with that. What I have issue with this year: They delayed several games due to rain. Did I mention that I don’t care for Baseball? They always delay or cancel games because of rain, or because some Yankee has a date with one of the Jessica’s and it might interfere, or, god forbid, someone breaks a nail and has to be put on the DL for 6 weeks… Soccer is played in every case, except for lightning or Tsunami. But soccer delayed due to rain!? Come on, soccer is supposed to be the one game that is played no matter the conditions!
Keep the game of soccer real, and play when you are supposed to play, and save the tarps for the wicked witch baseball players who might melt if they get wet!
