LimeWire

November 17th, 2007

LimeWire is just about the best file sharing program that I have ever come across with. And it is the fastest as well, especially when it comes to version 4.14 of the program itself! With LimeWire 4.14, I have better control over shared folders in my network. I also have a built-in Bittorrent Support system in the program! This means I have more ways to share files with my friends!

Another thing that I enjoy about LimeWire 4.14 is the fact that I receive notifications when my downloads are done already. And the same goes no matter what application I am currently using! This is just about the most convenient feature this new version can boast of!

Nintendo Wii

November 9th, 2007

When it comes to game consoles, the Nintendo Wii is the only system that I really want to get. Far better than its predecessor, which is the Gamecube franchise, it is actually the motion controls of the system that really impressed me. With its motion-sensing abilities, the motion controls would definitely enhance my gaming experience!

Plus, with its multiplayer gaming processor, I can easily hook up a lot of players and create my very own network! With 4 controller pad ports and expansion slots for SD cards, I can easily set up my network of gamers! And, if that’s not enough, I can play DVDs with the Nintendo Wii as well! This really makes the perfect Christmas gift for myself!

Where do you get all of your 5.11 Tactical Clothing and Gear?

November 2nd, 2007

As you all know, I do spend a bit of time giving back to my favorite hobby. I was lucky to have had a wonderful instructor for handgun, rifle and shotgun training. He has really gone the extra mile for me and I appreciate it. Our agreement was that I would do the same when the time came and I do and am. I spend a lot of time with the local police and sheriff’s departments at my home range. We are there to keep them safe and to offer our assistance and expertise.

One question I am often asked is where to find some of the equipment that I use. I have a lot of specialized gear that I use for practical and tactical competitions I am involved in. Most of the clothing I wear is specialized as well. You can find some of the best deals on 511 Tactical Clothing and accessories at 511tacticaloutdoors. They have some of the best selection of clothing, hard to find flashlights and the best holsters around.

LG VX8500 Chocolate

November 2nd, 2007

If there is one mobile phone that I have been pining for the longest time, it’s the LG VX8500 Chocolate. When it comes to style, design, and features, the LG VX8500 Chocolate is indeed the phone that I so want to have.

But the feature that I so love about this phone is its music player. If you do not have an iPod player, then you should consider getting the LG VX8500 Chocolate, just like me. This is because the phone comes with touch buttons just like the iPod player. But the LG VX8500 Chocolate is way better than the iPod player because it has speakers! You no longer have to plug your phone onto speakers. In this aspect alone, the LG VX8500 Chocolate is definitely the better choice!

New desktop for my home

November 1st, 2007

I am thinking of getting a new desktop for my home, and the Velocity Micro ProMagix PCX keeps popping into my mind. The first time I saw it, I was immediately intrigued by its attractive appearance, as well as its shiny black shade. But it’s not just the desktop’s appearance that has caught my attention.

With a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo E6600 CU and the nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS for a graphics adapter, this makes a very impressive desktop to have. What’s more, the CPU can be upgraded to a quad-core, if you would prefer it! It also has the 19-inch ViewSonic VA903b LCD monitor, which makes the whole unit very nice to look at. This is indeed a great PC to have, just in time for Christmas! Now, if only I could get my hands on a couple thousand dollars!

Morph Me Into A Non-Smoker

November 1st, 2007

Alright, so I am a smoker. I smoke way too much, as if one isn’t. but I digress. I have been trying to quit for a while. My nephews have been trying to get me to quit for a while. My mother has been trying… Well you get the idea. So here is my new motivational video:

This video morph was made with Morpheus Photo-Morpher. It was too easy too use. This software does that great photo-morphs like the ones you saw in that Michael Jackson video: ‘Black or White’. So I used it to make my own photo-morph.

The software itself was easy to install. It was a small download and it was quick to set up. I didn’t even realize that the entire program was ready to go when it had been for a while.

Upon launching the program, it immediately went in to a wizard to help me through the process. First, I chose the first picture to use, a shot of me by the lake. Next, the target photo was of a skull smoking. Then I chose the spots that were in relation to each other. Mouth, eyes, ears, nose, and so forth, and I was ready for a preview.

I hit the play button, and I was instantly treated to my motivation. There in front of me was a face morphing in to a skull smoking. Then, when I was done, I rendered the photo and saved it, done deal. It was too easy. Try it for yourself.

Cracked Tooth, No Dentist

November 1st, 2007

OK, so here we are, out in the middle of nowhere. We are bird-hunting about 18 miles outside of Arlington, Oregon, who’s only claim to fame is that Doc Severinsen couldn’t wait to leave and take over the Tonight Show Band. It is truly a high-plains desert.

We are the guests of the Olex Preserve and are having a beautiful experience. During lunch, one of my fellow bird hunters cracks a tooth on a piece of shot that remained in our pheasant soup lunch. So our trip is over, we need to head back to civilization and fix him up. The pain in his face says it all.

So we stop at the first drug store we see, a quaint little store from the days when all shop-owners new you by name. The druggist/owner suggests that he try Dentemp OS. So he buys it and the rest of us head over for a replacement meal. He is keen to try the product and relieve the pain.

Within 30 minutes, he not only says he is ready to go back and finish our hunt, but he is even able to eat! The stuff worked so well that he was even able to make it through the weekend on his temporary dental repair and go in for a regular dental visit to get the tooth fixed. That Dentemp OS saved our trip, and my buddy’s tooth!

Predict the weather

November 1st, 2007

Do you believe in predictions? Do you think there are some technologies out there that work to predict what will happen in the future? Meet the Oregon Scientific Weather Hub.

As far as I know, the Oregon Scientific Weather Hub was designed to predict upcoming weather. The units are built with small sizes and simple designs. They feature small, round double screens, the first one being capable of displaying the future weather icon, be it sunny, rainy, or cloudy. The other screen then shows the temperature degree based on Celsius or Fahrenheit. All of these capabilities are made possible with the system’s built-in barometer.

Having said all that, you might be thinking that you will have to save up a lot of extra bucks for such item, but you can find Oregon Scientific around $20.
